Lagu Daerah Setempat

Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, kita sering berkata, ”Wah ... itu indah! Seni
banget, ya!” Misalnya, melihat pegunungan dengan jalan yang berliku-liku,
pantai dengan airnya yang tampak biru, kebun bunga yang berwarna-warni,
lukisan seorang pelukis terkenal, dekorasi yang indah, suara seorang penyanyi
yang merdu, dan gerakan penari yang luwes. Di antara keindahan di atas, apakah
semuanya disebut seni?
Seni berasal dari kata sani (Sanskerta) yang berarti pemujaan, persembahan,
dan pelayanan. Kata tersebut berkaitan erat dengan upacara keagamaan yang
disebut kesenian. Menurut Padmapusphita, kata seni berasal dari bahasa Belanda
genie dalam bahasa Latin disebut genius, artinya kemampuan luar biasa yang
dibawa sejak lahir.
Seiring dengan perkembangan waktu, banyak definisi seni diungkapkan oleh
beberapa ahli. Berikut diuraikan beberapa definisi seni menurut para ahli.
a. Everyman Encyklopedia
Menurut Everyman Encyklopedia, seni adalah segala sesuatu yang dilakukan
orang, bukan atas dorongan kebutuhan pokoknya, melainkan karena
kehendak kemewahan, kenikmatan, ataupun kebutuhan spiritual.
b. Ensiklopedi Indonesia
Di dalam Ensiklopedia Indonesia dinyatakan bahwa seni merupakan
ciptaan segala hal karena keindahannya orang senang melihat atau
mendengarkannya.
c. Ki Hajar Dewantara
Ki Hajar Dewantara berpendapat, seni adalah perbuatan manusia yang
timbul dari hidupnya, perasaan, dan bersifat indah sehingga dapat menggetarkan
jiwa perasaan manusia.
d. Akhdiat Karta Miharja
Akhdiat Karta Miharja berpendapat, seni adalah kegiatan rohani manusia
yang merefleksikan kenyataan dalam suatu karya, bentuk, dan isinya mempunyai
daya untuk membangkitkan pengalaman tertentu dalam alam rohani.
e. Prof. Drs. Suwaji Bastomi
Hal senada diungkapkan oleh Prof. Drs. Suwaji Bastomi bahwa seni
adalah aktivitas batin dengan pengalaman estetis yang dinyatakan dalam bentuk
agung, mempunyai daya untuk membangkitkan rasa takjub dan haru.
f. Drs. Sudarmaji
Drs. Sudarmaji berpendapat, seni adalah segala manifestasi batin dan
pengalaman estetis dengan menggunakan media garis, bidang, warna, tekstur,
volume, dan gelap terang.
Dari beberapa pendapat di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa seni merupakan
hasil aktivitas batin yang direfleksikan dalam bentuk karya yang dapat membangkitkan
perasaan orang lain. Dalam pengertian ini yang termasuk seni
adalah kegiatan yang menghasilkan karya indah.
Definisi umum seni adalah segala macam keindahan yang diciptakan
oleh manusia.

Di lingkungan masyarakat, proses penciptaan seni dapat digolongkan menjadi
lima cabang sebagai berikut.
a. Seni Rupa
Seni rupa merupakan cabang seni yang umum disebut dengan seni
visual. Hal ini disebabkan seni rupa berwujud bentuk-bentuk yang divisualisasikan
melalui indra penglihatan (garis, bidang, warna, ruang, gelap,
dan terang).
b. Seni Musik
Istilah musik berasal dari bahasa Yunani, mousikos. Kata ini diambil
dari nama salah satu dewa Yunani yang bernama Mousikos. Mousikos
dilambangkan sebagai dewa keindahan dan menguasai bidang kesenian dan
ilmu pengetahuan. Musik dapat diartikan sebagai ungkapan perasaan yang
dituangkan dalam bentuk bunyi-bunyian.
Ungkapan yang dihasilkan melalui suara manusia disebut vokal,
sedangkan ungkapan yang dihasilkan melalui alat musik disebut instrumental.
c. Seni Tari
Seni tari adalah seni yang dihasilkan dari gerak, mimik, dan tingkah
laku seseorang yang indah. Tarian diiringi musik pengiring agar gerakannya
menarik dan enak dipandang,
d. Seni Sastra
Kesusastraan berasal dari bahasa Sanskerta, susastra. Su berarti baik
dan sastra berarti buku. Jadi, kesusastraan berarti tulisan yang mempunyai
bahasa indah dan baik.
e. Seni Drama
Drama berasal dari kata Yunani, dramas yang berarti perbuatan atau
pertunjukan perikehidupan seseorang. Drama ialah seni pertunjukan yang
disajikan di atas pentas.

Indonesia merupakan negara yang terdiri atas beribu-ribu pulau dengan beragam
kebudayaan. Lagu daerah merupakan salah satu kekayaan budaya negara
kita. Hampir setiap pulau memiliki lagu daerah. Lagu daerah biasanya berisi
tentang gambaran tingkah laku masyarakat setempat secara umum dan syairnya
menggunakan bahasa daerah setempat. Kadang maksud dan tujuan syairnya sulit
dipahami oleh orang yang berasal dari daerah lain. Bentuk pola irama maupun

susunan melodinya sangat sederhana sehingga mudah dikuasai oleh semua lapisan
masyarakat pada suatu tempat. Teknik ucapan/artikulasi yang dibawakan sesuai
dengan dialek setempat. Oleh karena itu, tidak dibutuhkan ketentuan vokalisasi.

a. Sederhana
Lagu daerah setempat biasanya bersifat sederhana baik melodi maupun
syairnya. Tangga nada yang digunakan kebanyakan tangga nada pentatonis.
Tangga nada pentatonis adalah tangga nada yang terdiri atas 5 nada berjenjang.
Tangga nada pentatonis sebenarnya tidak dapat dituliskan dalam notasi
umum. Namun, notasi pentatonis dapat diterapkan mendekati jajaran nada
yang digunakan nada do-re-mi-sol-la.
b. Kedaerahan
Lirik syair lagu daerah setempat sesuai dengan daerah atau dialek
setempat yang bersifat lokal karena lagu daerah tumbuh dari budaya daerah
setempat. Lagu daerah setempat, syairnya bersifat kedaerahan sehingga
artinya hanya dimengerti oleh daerah tersebut.
c. Turun-temurun
Lagu daerah setempat pengajarannya bersifat turun-temurun dari
orang tua kepada anaknya atau dari nenek kepada cucunya. Lagu daerah setempat
tersebut biasanya diciptakan dalam kondisi alam di daerah setempat. Lagu
daerah setempat dinyanyikan pada saat anak-anak bermain atau dolanan.
d. Jarang Diketahui Penciptanya
Lagu daerah setempat mempunyai karakter turun-temurundari
orang tua kepada anaknya atau dari nenek kepada cucunya. Lagu daerah setempat
tersebut biasanya diciptakan dalam kondisi alam di daerah setempat. Lagu
daerah setempat dinyanyikan pada saat anak-anak bermain atau dolanan.
d. Jarang Diketahui Penciptanya
Lagu daerah setempat mempunyai karakter turun-temurun karena penciptanya
jarang diketahui. Lagu daerah setempat tidak diketahui penciptanya,
tidak tertulis, dan sifatnya bukan semata-mata untuk tujuan komersial. Lagu
